Acting President Ilie Bolojan received on Tuesday, at the Cotroceni Palace, a delegation of representatives of the agri-food sector, on which several aspects related to the activity and actions of organizations in the field for the country’s food security were debated, according to a press release from the Presidential Administration.
The delegation was formed by members of the following organizations: Pro-Agro, the League of Agricultural Producers’ Associations of Romania (LAPAR), the National Branch Union of Cooperatives in the Vegetable Sector (UNCSV), the Farmers’ Strength Association (AFF), the Forum of Professional Farmers and Processors of Romania (FAPPR), the Farmers’ Association of Romania (AFR) and the Romanian Farmers’ Club.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Florin-Ionut Barbu.
According to the Presidential Administration, the discussions addressed issues related to the approval of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2028-2034 (MFF), the structure of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) budget, the external convergence process of direct payments, the MERCOSUR Agreement, the possibility of amending Regulations (EU) 2015/783, (EU) 2018/784 and (EU) 2018/785, as well as supporting the amendment of Law No. 287/2009 on the Civil Code in order to establish a lease duration of at least 7 years.
„As to the request of the representatives of the agri-food sector in Romania to have their presented proposals supported at the international level, the interim president explained the importance of aligning the issues discussed with the activity of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, so that the expectations of the associative environment can be treated in a fair and efficient manner”, the cited source informs.
