The Regulatory Committee of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has adopted an Order establishing measures aimed at increasing the level of consumer information, with a view to a clear and fair transition to the end, starting with July 1, 2025, of the support scheme, ANRE informs in a press release.
Thus, according to the cited source, electricity suppliers will be obliged to send, no later than June 10, 2025, a written information, addressed to each customer in their portfolio, regarding: the termination of the electricity support scheme starting with July 1, 2025; the return to the contractual price established between the parties, either the one agreed upon signing the contract or the one communicated upon updating the economic conditions; the method of establishing the price for customers in the last resort supply regime, if applicable; the possibility of changing the supplier, a process that is free of charge and does not involve technical changes; the methods of concluding a supply contract under a competitive regime and access to the „Comparator of electricity supply type offers” application, on the ANRE website.
For customers who will not experience contractual price changes from July 1, 2025, suppliers are obliged to explicitly communicate the current applicable price, to allow for correct information and informed decisions regarding changing supplier or negotiating a new contract.
The information will be sent attached to the invoice or in the contractually agreed manner so that each end customer receives all essential data in a timely manner.
„ANRE carried out a transparent public consultation process on the draft order, between April 1 and 14, 2025, actively involving economic operators in the field and representative consumer organizations. The proposals received were analyzed and integrated, where it was considered justified from a technical and legal point of view,” the press release reads.
