The National Confederation for Women’s Entrepreneurship (CONAF) is organizing, on May 19, at the Brasov Opera, the fifth edition of the National Forum „By Vocation, Entrepreneurs”.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, participants will have the opportunity to meet leaders „who are building, day by day, a different economy.”
„The event creates a unique framework for dialogue and networking, encouraging the exchange of ideas between entrepreneurs and supporters of equal opportunities. The initiative aims to concretely support female entrepreneurship, with the objective of reducing the gap between women’s and men’s initiatives in Romania,” the press release states.
The cited source emphasizes that, in the face of current challenges – demographic crises, economic pressures, the need for innovation – Romania has a huge potential that it is only now beginning to activate: female entrepreneurs.
„The balanced participation of women in the economy could bring an additional 24 billion euros to GDP by 2030. This is the direction in which smart economies are going. And Romania has the opportunity to be among them,” the organizers specify.
The event is divided into three thematic panels, each designed to challenge, inspire and provide tools applicable to the complex reality of the entrepreneurial environment.
„The fact that, in 2025, women in Romania still need entrepreneurial mentoring highlights a systemic vulnerability that has been overlooked for too long. In a mature market economy, the fragility of female business is a structural issue – as women often start from an unequal position, with limited access to capital, institutional trust and strategic support. Beyond the statistics, the reality is painful: women who choose to build a business are simultaneously confronted with the pressure to perform and the social constraint to be agreeable, to avoid confrontation. In this climate, the ability to prioritize becomes a luxury, and the entrepreneurial journey – an equation with many unknowns. The Vocation, Entrepreneurs Program is not a PR exercise, but a real tool for transformation. The national forum directly addresses the critical need for mentoring, applied education and support networks – essential elements for „strengthening female entrepreneurial initiative. The latest edition does not mark an end, but confirms a strategic direction: if we aspire to a resilient economy, we must start by building the resilience of each entrepreneur,” said Cristina Chiriac, president of CONAF, quoted in the press release.
The National Forum „Entrepreneurs by vocation” is an initiative of the National Confederation for Women’s Entrepreneurship – CONAF, in partnership with the National Association of Entrepreneurs – ANAA, the Women Entrepreneurs’ Patronage – PFA and supported by Philip Morris Romania, with the aim of determining, through the power of its premium content, a change in mentality, an acceleration, but also a coagulation of a community with huge potential – female entrepreneurship.
The National Confederation for Women’s Entrepreneurship (CONAF) is the most relevant confederation in Romania that advocates for more efficient dialogue with authorities, collaboration in the development of public policies that lead to sustainable economic growth and supports entrepreneurs, recognizing their merits. CONAF represents the largest entity of its kind in Romania, an organization that supports and promotes Romanian entrepreneurship, an unprecedented thing that opens up horizons of collaboration and cooperation both domestically and internationally. CONAF was established as a result of the need to create a modern, sustainable and equitable entrepreneurial culture, not only for female entrepreneurship, but also for the entire business environment. CONAF is composed of 30 branches, 2 federations, 12 employers’ associations, 38 associations and over 5,500 companies, with over 245,000 employees.
CONAF organizes important events for Romanian society, focused on continuing education, awareness and finding solutions for problems and areas of broad public interest. It develops and completes national projects with a strong impact, both for society and for the development strategies of central and local authorities.
Among CONAF’s projects are the „Youth Pact”, the „Entrepreneurship Education Marathon”, „DigitalUP”, the „Labor Pact” – in partnership with FPPG, the „Entrepreneurship Education Pact”, the „Romanian Venture Forum” series of open dialogues, „Romanian Tourism: Between Impasse and Opportunity”, which generated, in addition to echoes in the public space, legislative decisions and positive changes in mentalities. Hundreds of speakers and thousands of entrepreneurs debated in the most important Romanian cities the most pressing problems, in order to find the optimal solutions and the best strategies for the future.
