Dumitru Costin was re-elected, on Thursday, as president of the National Trade Union Bloc (BNS), with 304 votes in favor and 12 against, at the 13th Congress of the Trade Union Confederation.
Costin has been at the helm of the BNS since 1993, first as interim president, following the resignation of Matei Bratianu. Subsequently, Dumitru Costin was elected president at each congress.
„This is the last time I am running because I will reach retirement age during this term,” said the BNS president. The term of office of the BNS president is 5 years.
Over 500 delegates and guests, representatives of the trade union organizations that are members of the National Trade Union Bloc, as well as of public institutions and national and international partner organizations, participated, on Wednesday and Thursday, in the Congress of the Trade Union Confederation, at the Palace of Parliament.
