Ruse and her partner won in 66 minutes.
The Romanian-Ukrainian pair secured a EUR 23,290 cheque and 120 WTA doubles points, and is set to face Ulrikke Eikeri (Norway)/Eri Hozumi (Japan).
In another first-round match, the Romanian-Polish pair Monica Niculescu/Katarzyna Piter was defeated by the top seeds Gabriela Dabrowski (Canada)/Erin Routliffe (New Zealand) 6-4, 6-1 in one hour and 13 minutes.
