The Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity (MMFTSS) will collaborate with the Council of Foreign Investors so that employees in Romania have the best skills and employers benefit from a predictable and stable environment for development, according to a social media post published on Wednesday.
„Maintaining and increasing competitiveness through adequate training programmes and support to attract highly qualified labour force are essential. We need to invest more in active employment measures. We will also cooperate with specialists from the Council of Foreign Investors in Romania to find the best solutions, so as to ensure that employees have the best skills, and employers have a predictable and stable environment for development,” said Minister of Labour Simona Bucura-Oprescu during the meeting with the council’s specialists.
Under this partnership, a series of important points will be followed, such as: what real needs the Romanian labour market has and what expectations employers have in relation to the level of skills of employees; what jobs are sought after and how highly qualified employees can be attracted and maintained in Romania; how to increase labour competitiveness and what the solutions are to reduce the labour shortage in Romania; what the public policies are in the field of labour essential for Romania’s attractiveness to foreign investors to increase.
Another subject discussed regards the most appropriate measures to lead to the reintegration with the Romanian labour market of as many Romanians overseas as possible.
It was established that partnerships will be entered with the private sector to adapt skills to market demands, digitise hiring, capitalise on the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) mechanism for anticipating qualification needs and that joint teams will work on updating Romania’s Classification of Occupations in in line with the European system of skills and qualifications.
