PM Ciolacu wants package of fiscal measures to be ready this week
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu stated that he wants the package of fiscal measures to be implemented this week.
„That’s what I want, [to be ready this week – editor’s note], so that it becomes transparent,” Ciolacu told a press conference.
He also mentioned that the discussions in the coalition „went normally” and that it is about fiscal measures, not about changing the taxation system. On the other hand, he specified that he would like certain measures „to also cover the requests for fiscal reform” of the European Commission.
„We are waiting, there is also a technical team in Brussels at the moment. It has been two days. We will have more information. We are now taking some fiscal measures, but we are not changing the taxation system. We are not switching from the single tax to progressive taxation, which is recommended by both the Commission and all the international economic and fiscal forums,” said the PM.
