AGERPRES special correspondent Oana Ghita reports: President Nicusor Dan said on Monday that he will most likely attend the Odessa Summit on June 11, where he will have „more technical” discussions on supporting Ukraine.
The Romanian president is attending the Vilnius Summit with B9 and Nordic countries.
Asked whether Romania will be more transparent about its support to Ukraine, he replied: „I don’t know. So far I have not been able to assess the benefits and risks. In any case, Romania will continue to support Ukraine because it is a question of our own security. It is one thing to be in the existing situation, with a neighbor on the eastern border – Ukraine, with which we have a treaty since 1997, and another to have Russia”.
Nicusor Dan had a bilateral meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, but said he would not address the issue of military aid.
„Most likely I will go to the summit in Odessa on June 11 and there the talks will be more technical,” the head of state said.
