As of 20:00hrs EEST on Sunday, 9,116,092 voters voted in the first round of the presidential election rerun, making up 50.68% of the number of the voters on the electoral rolls, according to data provided in real time by the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP), informs Agerpres.
In urban areas, 5,498,755 voters voted, and in rural areas, 3,617,337 voters.
As many as 85,304 voters used the mobile ballot box.
Of the 9,116,092 voters who voted as of 19:00hrs, 8,176,368 voted in the country, namely 45.45%, and 939,724 voted abroad.
Voting abroad started on Friday at 07:00hrs, local, and will end on Sunday at 21:00hrs, EEST.
High voter turnouts were recorded in the counties:
* Ilfov – 63.75% of the total voters on rolls;
* Giurgiu – 55.38%;
* Arges – 52.43%;
* Cluj – 52.67%;
* Olt – 50.75%.
Low voter turnouts were recorded in the following counties:
* Vaslui – 31.49% of the total voters on rolls;
* Satu Mare – 34.78%;
* Covasna – 36.41%;
* Botosani – 36.59%
* Maramures – 38.85%.
In Bucharest, the voter turnout was 47.65% as follows:
* Sector 1 – 54.69%;
* Sector 2 – 49.34%;
* Sector 3 – 40.07%;
* Sector 4 – 49.86%;
* Sector 5 – 44.79%;
* Sector 6 – 53.34%.

In 2024, in the first round of the presidential election, which was later cancelled, the turnout was 51.19% on Sunday at 20:00hrs.
