The „Pupi Videodrome” exhibition created by Palermo’s Museo internazionale delle marionette Antonio Pasqualino to showcase Sicily’s UNESCO-listed marionette theatrical representation Opera dei Pupi brings the tradition of Sicilian marionette shows to the Piscu Workshop Museum in Ciolpani, where it can be visited until March 13.
Pupi Videodrome is a sensory and immersive itinerary between past and present, blending multimedia content and ethnographic installations to generate an environment full of sounds and images and supraposing the traditional artifacts with digital animation, 360-degree virtual reality and contemporary video art, the organizers said.
The students from the Marionette Faculty also had the opportunity to manipulate the puppets.
