The president of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA), Alexandru Bociu, signed on Wednesday in Tunis the veterinary sanitary certificates required for the export of sheep, cattle and products with added value (sheep and cattle slaughter by-products), poultry meat, hatching eggs, as well as day-old chicks to Tunisia, informs Agerpres.
According to a press release from the Authority, this significant step marks the formalization of the veterinary sanitary framework necessary for trade and opens new opportunities for Romanian farmers.
„By signing the veterinary sanitary certificates, ANSVSA creates new opportunities for Romanian farmers, contributing to their increased access to international markets and strengthening Romania’s position as a reliable partner in the global agri-food sector,” said the president of ANSVSA, on the occasion of the signing of the agreements, according to the press release.
A delegation from ANSVSA, led by its president, Alexandru Bociu, is on a working visit to Tunisia to discuss the opening of Romanian exports of livestock and products of animal origin, as well as the strengthening of bilateral trade relations.
During the meetings with officials from the General Directorate of Veterinary Services of Tunisia (DGSV), the Romanian delegation presented the structure and functioning of the veterinary services in Romania, as well as the capacity of the network of veterinary laboratories, which guarantee the safety of products for export.
The discussions focused on accelerating the export process, the recognition of quality standards and the possibility of organizing technical visits of Tunisian specialists in Romania to check the production and export conditions.
„A major topic of interest was the superior quality of Romanian poultry products, recognized on European markets, which can meet the requirements of the Tunisian market in the long term. The parties agreed to prioritize cooperation in the agri-food sector, facilitating the official opening of Romanian exports to Tunisia. This visit, realized with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Romanian Embassy in Tunisia, is an important step in strengthening bilateral trade relations and in developing sustainable partnerships on the international market,” shows the press release.
