Romania’s women’s 8+ crew won the silver medal on Saturday at the 2025 World Rowing Championships in Shanghai, China, Agerpres reports.
With a lineup made up of Cristina Druga, Roxana Anghel, Iulia-Liliana Balauca, Maria Lehaci, Ancuta Bodnar, Geanina Dumitrita Juncanariu, Adriana Adam, Amalia Beres and Victoria Petreanu, Romania finished with a time of 6 minutes 10.83 seconds.
The Netherlands claimed the gold medal with 6:08.10, while the UK took bronze with 6:12.66.
Romania’s men’s 8+ crew, made up of Mihaita Tiganescu, Laurentiu Danciu, Mateus-Simion Cozminciuc, Fabrizio-Alexandru Scripcariu, Bogdan Baitoc, Leontin Nutescu, Constantin Adam, Claudiu Neamtu and Adrian Munteanu, finished second in the Final B, with a time of 5:36.58, behind Germany (5:33.18), ranking 8th overall.
Romania’s delegation has secured one gold and four silver medals so far.
Romania is competing with 12 crews at the 2025 World Rowing Championships in Shanghai, China, held from September 21 to 28, including in the newly introduced mixed double sculls and mixed 8+ events, scheduled for Sunday.
